The Village of Plandome Manor

The Mayor serves as the Village’s Chief Executive Officer and performs the following duties; presides at the meeting of the Board of Trustees, appoints all non-elected officers and employees, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees. The Mayor serves as the Village’s licensing officer and executes all contracts for the Village. The responsibility and power to supervise all subordinate village officers and employees is vested in the Village Mayor.

The Village government administers to the well-being of residents and Village properties. A trustee is a member of the village board of trustees, which is a village’s elected legislative body as outlined by local and state law. The board of trustees is the policy-making legislative body of the village. It consists of a mayor and 4 trustees elected at large, each for a 2-year term. It levies taxes, issues permits, maintains roads, sidewalks, parking and provides additional services to Village residents.
